When we go to Trevorrow House, we enjoy staying local. In Newlyn, the Meadery is a lovely family-friendly hands-on eating experience. Warren’s bakery (branches everywhere) provide our favourite saffron buns, and Jelbert’s home-made vanilla ice creams with clotted cream on top are very special. Pasties are everywhere: we like Philp’s (Marazion) hot from the shop and eaten on the wall looking at St. Michael’s Mount. Fresh fish available everywhere of course! It is great to walk along the prom to the beautiful outdoor Jubilee swimming pool, or past the busy fishing harbour to Mousehole.
We always buy the Cornishman newspaper (out Thursdays) because it provides lots of local event information, and we love the archaeological sites, the mining heritage and the art galleries.
Porthcurno is exquisite; Perranuthnoe has lovely sand for playing on when the tide is out; Sennen has great surf; St.Ives has everything really.
But these are our favourites: we hope you find your own lovely experiences and memories when you stay at Trevorrow House.
Storms can be dramatic and beautiful, but recent ones have done some damage locally. You can still walk to Penzance but the path by the sea at Newlyn Green has been damaged. The beautiful Jubilee Pool has suffered badly. Please join Friends of Jubilee Pool to show your support!
